With student fresher’s now in full flow, our Uni committee members have been doing a sterling job of recruiting new students.  With courses every weekend all our CSI’s have been involved with the initial training and refreshers. Unfortunately, the autumnal weather has hit our student’s progression with a really bad run of cloud wind and rain.

Not to dampen their spirits the usual Uni games have been seen and heard on the Saturday nights in the rec room.  Some leading to midnight runway dashes whilst others remained warm inside. Great to see such spirit within the University committees and let’s cross all our fingers for some better weather soon.

Our tandem and camera teams have worked hard to maintain the throughput of our students despite the damp ground conditions.  The washer has seen an abundance of tandem jumpsuits and our instructors have arrived on the flight line with some impromptu footwear protection, Thanks to all for your commitment and professionalism in the line of duty.

With a couple of nice weekends in October our experienced club members got a few FS loads completed with some really nice shots of Morecambe Bay by Duncan.  Our CRW teams have laid low due to the adverse weather but the downtime has allowed for even more equipment checks and changes to ensure the kit performs to its best.

Our last canopy course was run in September by Kieron, Steve and Ian. All candidates have been kept under close scrutiny in their exercises to maximise the course content. Thanks for your hard work guys and your constant reminders to our members on the correct flight techniques and landing patterns.

We are again at the Hydro Hotel in Windermere for our annual Christmas Bash. Always well attended, it is a night of awards, drinks and memories for the year at Skydive North West.  No doubt our Scottish contingent will of course hold the bar to ransom as per the norm and Becky will be avoiding the luggage trolley.

We would like to wish all our club members, canteen staff, pilots, office staff, instructors, packers and camera teams a wonderful and peaceful Christmas. We will see you all at the party or Feb 2020 when the centre reopens for another year of skydiving fun.
