The Chatteris AGM was held on December 15 where it was announced that 6,593 descents were completed by fun jumpers in 2019 with 12 new students having qualified over the year. Student of the year 2019 was awarded to Amjad al Smadi with the runner up being Rob Blair. Most Improved Club Jumper was Svatopluk Danek and Club Member of the Year was Michael Foulser.
They have all been awarded with jump tickets, congratulations to them! Special mention goes to our Rigger, Kim Newton who was awarded a Certificate of Merit from the Royal Aero Club. This was well deserved, and the club offers huge congratulations to Kim.
A handful of regular fun jumpers attended the Algarve Christmas Boogie at the end of December and beginning of January. We took part in some load organising, managed to catch some rays and saw in the New Year with fireworks and booze. Whilst there Alison completed her 1,000th jump and Max completed his 500th which we were all there to celebrate with them.
Finally, well done to Funtastic Five who won the UKSL AA Gold Medal and had a lot of fun doing so! The winter shut down period is from December 15 2019 to February 8 2020. Tickets are now £22 with loyalty prices at £12 after 60 jumps. We look forward to jumping with you again in 2020.
