Jersey has not flown for skydiving this year and, at this period of downtime, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to show appreciation to all of our DZ volunteers who are contributing to essential roles.

Our elite band of helpers continually support us behind the scenes in various duties during the season, not only during operational times, but also throughout the year. Duties include driving the minibus, taking promotional photographs, gardening, flying the aircraft, maintaining the vehicles, dedicated dropzone controllers, safety boat handlers, cake bakers, air traffic controllers, administrators, BBQ chefs, club rep, display commentators and of course designated drivers for the regular covert night time ops. A big thank you goes out, not only from me, but also from all the jumpers who secretly really do appreciate you giving up your time supporting all the activities we enjoy, both public and private.

I would also like to take time to thank those who have donated to our JustGiving page, justgiving.com/crowdfunding/skydivejersey, and those people funding their jump accounts despite us being grounded through the Covid-19 crisis. Let it not be said that we don’t have a club spirit alive and well in Jersey – we shall fly again very soon! A huge thank you to Richard Tyler, Sue Falloon, Brian Heath, Ann and Mike Fleming, Paul Stockwell, Nigel O’Brien, Ann Gatt and Chloe Hill.
