Once you’ve set up your course outline in the Course Builder, the next step is to add engaging content to your lessons and topics. This guide will walk you through the process of adding text, videos, and other multimedia elements to create a rich and dynamic learning experience.


1. Accessing the Lesson or Topic Editor

  • Navigate to the Course Builder tab.
  • Hover over a lesson, topic, or quiz, and you’ll see the Edit and Remove options.
  • Click on Edit to open the content editor for the selected lesson or topic.

2. Adding Content to Your Lesson or Topic

In the editor, you’ll see the lesson or topic title that you initially created in the Course Builder. Below the title is where you can begin adding your content:

  • Adding Text:
    • Click on the “+” icon to insert a content block.
    • Select Paragraph to add plain text, or type directly into the editor.
    • You can also copy and paste pre-written content directly into the editor for efficiency.
  • Adding Videos:
    • Click the “+” icon and search for YouTube or Video in the widget search bar.
    • Paste the link to your video in the provided field and click Embed to display the video on the page.
    • Tip: Use videos to enhance the learning experience, such as tutorials, demonstrations, or welcome messages.
  • Adding Other Media:
    • Use the “+” icon to add additional widgets for images, audio files, or links.
    • For example, you can add an Image widget to include visual aids or an Audio widget to provide recorded explanations.

3. Customising Your Content

You can structure your lessons and topics with as much variety as you need:

  • Multiple Content Blocks: Add multiple text boxes, videos, or other widgets to create a diverse and engaging lesson.
  • Reorganise Content: Rearrange the order of widgets by dragging and dropping them within the editor.
  • Preview Your Lesson: Once you’ve added your content, click View Lesson at the top of the page to see how it will appear to learners.

4. Finalising Your Lesson or Topic

  • Once all content has been added, click Update to save your changes.
  • Repeat this process for each lesson, topic, or quiz in your course outline.
  • Ensure consistency in the design and layout across lessons to provide learners with a seamless experience.

  • Use simple and clear headings to break up content for better readability.
  • Include interactive elements, such as embedded quizzes or discussion prompts, to keep learners engaged.
  • Regularly preview lessons to ensure the layout and content look professional and function as intended.
