British Skydiving suspended Siân Stokes in August 2022 due to an allegation made against her. Her suspension was lifted later that year, and all subsequent investigations related to the allegation were concluded in May 2023 following a report that concluded the allegation was unsubstantiated.
British Skydiving is committed to handling serious allegations with professionalism and promptness. In relation to this matter, British Skydiving has reviewed its approach, particularly in the areas of communication, investigative processes, and resolution timelines, as part of its commitment to continuous improvement and maintaining best practices.
As part of this ongoing commitment, British Skydiving has implemented a number of procedural enhancements to support the effective and responsible handling of any future concerns. We recognise that this situation was personally difficult for Siân and are sorry for the impact it had on her, including the unfortunate consequences she experienced as a result of the process.
Siân is a former British Skydiving Instructor of the Year, multiple National Champion, World Champion, and a valued member of the British Skydiving community. We look forward to celebrating her achievements and welcoming the contributions she brings as a top skydiving athlete and coach.
