The Amanda Kenny Outstanding Contribution to Competition Skydiving Award was established by the British Skydiving Judges in memory of Amanda, a fellow Judge who tragically lost her life to cancer in April 2024. Amanda started judging in the 1980s and back then was Judging Accuracy, FS, CF and AE. She was also, at one point, the Judges Coordinator.
Amanda took a break from judging in the 2000s but came back in 2019, requalifying in FS, CF, and Accuracy, and more recently started learning WS. She was always the one who would pick up the slack if there was ever a gap in judging. She was always willing to help competitors, and in 2022 she was CJ of the World POPS Meet. Without her, several competitions would not have gone ahead over the years.
This award is to reflect Amanda’s outstanding contribution to competition skydiving, to be awarded to an individual or DZ who has made an outstanding contribution to competitions during the previous twelve months.
Each year, Elite Performance Committee calls on the membership for nominations for the Amanda Kenny Outstanding Contribution to Competition Skydiving Award. The winner is then decided by an EPC vote on each of the nominees, the winner being the person with the most votes.
The award that bears her name is not necessarily awarded each year and is reserved to recognise and celebrate outstanding contribution to competition skydiving.
