When it comes to safety, standing still isn’t an option.
That’s why British Skydiving’s Safety & Training Officer, Ryan, recently completed the Fundamentals of Accident Investigation course at Cranfield University.
Developed with leading accident investigation specialists and supported by experts from the UK’s Air, Marine and Rail Accident Investigation Branches, the programme explores how investigators uncover what happened, why it happened, and, most importantly, what can be learned from it.
For our members, that’s what makes this so valuable.
Every incident tells a story.
Understanding that story properly can mean the difference between repeating the same mistakes and making meaningful improvements that keep people safer.
Ryan’s training strengthens our ability to ask better questions, find deeper insights, and turn lessons learned into practical action across the sport.
We’re incredibly proud of Ryan for taking on this challenge and investing in his professional development.
Behind every jump is a huge amount of work dedicated to protecting our members, supporting our clubs and dropzones, and continually improving the way we operate.
This course is another step in that journey.
As a sport, we never stop learning, and as an organisation, we’ll continue to build our knowledge, challenge ourselves, and do everything we can to make skydiving safer for everyone.
