Members Code of Conduct

Members Code of Conduct

British Skydiving is built on a shared commitment to safety, respect and enjoyment of the sport. This Members Code of Conduct sets out the standards of behaviour expected of all members, helping to ensure a positive, inclusive and safe environment for everyone involved in skydiving.

The Code applies to all members, with additional responsibilities outlined for those holding instructional and coaching roles.

Core Principles (All Members)

Respect and Inclusion
All members must respect the rights of others to participate in skydiving in a safe, inclusive and supportive environment.

Positive Relationships
Members are expected to act with honesty, openness and respect, communicating clearly and considering the safety and experience of others.

Personal Standards
Members should behave responsibly and in a way that reflects positively on skydiving and British Skydiving.

Shared Responsibility for Safety
Everyone has a role in supporting a strong safety culture by following procedures, raising concerns where appropriate, and prioritising learning and safety.

Instructors and Coaches

Instructors and coaches hold positions of trust and responsibility and play a key role in shaping skills, confidence and long-term engagement with the sport.

In addition to the principles above, instructors and coaches are expected to:

  • Maintain professional boundaries and communicate constructively

  • Demonstrate high standards of personal conduct and integrity

  • Maintain qualifications, competence and currency in line with British Skydiving requirements

  • Adhere to operational standards and support safe, progressive learning environments
