With some sadness we share the news that one of our Directors resigned from their role on 23 June, with immediate effect.
After joining the Board in January this year, Theo Koutroukides has taken the difficult decision to step down due to a conflict of interest raised by his intention to apply for a fixed-term paid role with the Association. This role has arisen as part of the implementation of our membership systems project and Theo is keen to see the Association benefit from his rich mix of skills and expertise through that route, if his application is successful.
Chair of British Skydiving, Mary Barratt, said “we are very grateful to Theo for the passion and dedication that he has shown in his short time as a Director and his commitment to contributing to the Association in the best way possible. We wish him well in his application for the new role and we look forward to drawing on his enthusiasm for the sport in volunteer roles where possible.” Theo commented, “I remain devoted to the success of the Association and eagerly anticipate contributing to future endeavours, whether as part of the executive team or as an engaged member of our community.”
This leaves the Board with a casual vacancy for the remainder of 2024, and we are currently considering how best to manage this.
