We are aware that there have been a number of positive COVID cases at several drop zones over the past couple of weeks. Although government restrictions have been lifted our understanding is that some PTOs may have measures in place to test staff for the protection of visitors and we would like to ask all members and those attending a drop zone to take personal responsibility for the benefit of the community.
Even if you have no symptoms, you can show care and consideration to fellow skydivers by doing a Lateral Flow Test (LFT) before attending a drop zone. If the test is positive, you should report the positive test online, self-isolate and book a PCRT: https://www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test. If you are actually feeling unwell, please self-isolate and arrange a PCRT (a negative LFT is not reliable enough if you actually have symptoms).
With a number of National Championships happening over the next few weeks we are asking everyone to be vigilant. We fully understand that competitors have been training hard, looking forward to competing and would not like to step down at the last moment or let their teammates down.
Please be assured that not attending an event because you have tested positive will not be letting anyone down and you will be supporting the community in the best way that you can by self-isolating.
LFTs can be picked up free in most pharmacies or ordered online: https://www.gov.uk/order-coronavirus-rapid-lateral-flow-tests
